DON'T DELAY! CATCH THE TRAIN
DON'T DELAY! CATCH THE TRAIN
Fighting Procrastination
Oh its okay, take rest,
you can read this blog later!
Still reading? My sincerest gratitude to your focus and spirit π
Welcome readers!
I have this weird habit of unnecessarily elaborating narration and description of things (You must’ve noticed this in my previous blog). So, for your convenience, I’ll keep this blog short (and, also because I have procrastinated so much in the journey of completing this blog that I don’t remember anything worth mentioning :_))

Why do we delay our work? One reason could be that we want to give our full attention to the task and attain it in the most perfect form. Other could be that we're afraid to go through all the hard work, to channelize so much energy for the task's achievement. Or we're over-thinking about the technicalities or difficulty of the work. Or we're just too comfortable in our present situation and can't realize the need for the accomplishment of the task.
Whatever be the reason,
all of us procrastinate and then regret when the deadline is breathing down our
necks. We take shelter in instant gratification activities and lose time, just
to escape from "that dreadful task".
Slowly, like a climbing
plant (also called as creeper) that anchors to anything that falls in its path,
we too divert our attention from every necessary/important work in our lives by
grabbing on to worthless activities that fall on our path and make
procrastination a habit, that we can no longer control.

This whole
procrastination regime reminds me of an example of urgency that one of my
teachers has often told me and here it goes – “If you have to catch a train,
will you delay reaching the platform? You won’t! Because you know that if the
train leaves the platform and you miss it, you’ll be late to your destination.
So in life also, we must intently focus on achieving our goals, as if we’re
catching a train..”
So stop postponing your
work and as much as I can tell about my habit of procrastination... the best
way to fight it is by "starting and completing the task". Thus, don't
delay and go catch the train!
